We offer many different starting marinas – both for sailing and powerboat events. Every marina has different attributes, often making the selection straight forward.
We have listed the most popular below. Our Ribs/powerboats can make it anywhere from any of them – they have the speed. If you opt for sailing and have a particular lunch venue in mind, you will need to select your starting point a little more carefully.
Lymington – with the option of lunch in Yarmouth – or at “The Hut“, Isle of Wight
Sailing from Lymington gives you the opportunity to see the famous Needles and Hurst Castle – as well as lovely journey down through the New Forest.
Lymington Yacht Haven is a lovely marina in the New Forest National Park. Making the day a very different, “away from the city” experience. A short taxi hop from Brockenhurst Station – with direct trains from London, good connections from Reading etc. Complimentary parking, great facilities, and the legendary Haven Bistro for breakfast and post-sailing drinks, make this a fantastic venue. There are many excellent hotels in the New Forest, a short drive away – transfers can be arranged.
Hamble, Portsmouth or Southampton – with the option of lunch in Cowes, Isle of Wight
Hamble – Mercury Yacht Harbour is a pleasant marina situated on the Hamble River and just off the M27 motorway with quick access to The Solent. Southampton Airport Parkway station is 15 mins away by taxi. Ample free parking and the Gaff Rigger Bar & Restaurant for breakfast and post-sailing drinks. The Utilita Bowl Hilton and other hotels are a short drive away, transfers can be arranged.
Portsmouth – Gunwharf Quays Marina is the ideal marina for single day events with easy fast train links to Portsmouth Harbour station just 5 minutes’ walk away. Plenty of paid parking, and, as it is part of the Gunwharf Quays Designer Shopping Outlet, there are many bars and restaurants for post sailing drinks and food. Limited luxury hotel options, but budget business hotels on site.
Southampton – Ocean Village Marina is a modern marina with a good selection of bars and restaurants. The 5* Harbour Hotel & Spa is right on the marina, making it an ideal venue for the “complete package”. Easy links by road and rail (the station is a short taxi drive away) and plentiful paid parking.
