Amazing Hospitality 4th-7th June 2020 – CANCELLED

Solent Events were to offer amazing hospitality packages, helped in no small part by another group company (Solent Rib Charter) being the official Rib supplier to the America’s Cup World Series organisation. We had planned for guests to be able to enjoy unique access to the VIP on the water viewing area from a range of quality. We hope to see this event on the Solent again in the future.

America's Cup Background

Auckland, New Zealand hosted the most recent cup in March 2021 with the host nation retaining the title against the Italian Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team. We very much hope that the World Series racing will return to the Solent in the lead up to the main event and will of course be offering hospitality if so.

The America’s Cup is one of the oldest sporting events in the world dating back to 1851 and the UK has never won to date. Let’s hope this changes in when the next Cup with Sir Ben Ainslie’s Ineos Team UK entry!

The AC75

The last America’s cup was raced using 75 foot foiling mono-hulls, the like of which had never been seen before. These futuristic machines literally fly at breathtaking speeds previously impossible from a single hull! Weighing in at just 6.5 tonnes and having a mast height of near 86 feet, these miracles of modern engineering are crewed by 11 sailors with a combined weight of between 960-990kg.
