Overview

Racing Heritage

Commissioned by newspaper baron Sir Max Aitken, Crusade was designed by Alan Gurney and built in cold-moulded wood in 1969 Cowes on the Isle of Wight. She was immediately shipped to Australia, where she took line honours in the 1969 Sydney–Hobart Yacht Race. Returning to the UK, she went on to earn a strong reputation as an Admiral’s Cup racer.

Following major refits in 2011 and 2022, including a brand-new carbon rig and a full wardrobe of North Sails, Crusade has been revitalised for a new racing era.

Refined Luxury

At 64ft Crusade is one of the largest charter yachts on the Solent, and without doubt the most beautiful. Sublimely appointed with an immaculate interior and a sleek deck with flush coach house, she is perfect for luxury days afloat and spectating at events such as Cowes Week, Round the Island Race or Sail GP.

Event Format

A Crusade charter is always a bespoke event, built around your requirements. Her home berth is Lymington, but her skipper and crew can bring Crusade to any Solent location. She sails with a skipper, sailing mate and host, to ensure your every need is looked after, whether you are wanting to sip a G&T in her cockpit or get involved with the technical sailing. Select a gourmet buffet onboard (facilitates more sailing time) or lunch ashore at one of our partner venues in Cowes or Yarmouth, and you have the perfect day afloat.
