Whilst the end of the summer season in the UK sees our Sailing and Powerboat events drawing to a close, we don’t just hibernate for the winter! Our River Thames Clay Shoot is very popular for groups of between 15-40 guests and can run between 4 hours to a full day. With this event, our guests get the change to fire live ammunition using ecologically sound biodegradable shot and clays just a few miles from central London! Great as a team building/reward event or to entertain clients, this unique activity always gets amazing feedback.
Typically starting from either St Katherine’s Pier or North Greenwich Pier, we cruise along the river and head out through the Thames Barrier to pick up a mooring buoy at Thamesmead with lunch onboard on the way. We set up 2 shoot stands and our patient and friendly professional instructors will brief and encourage all guests regardless of past experience to ensure all get the most out of the shoot. A variety of guns are used with a surprise ‘vintage firearm’ making an appearance for those brave enough to give it a go!
We offer the choice of two vessels for this event from a Thames Barge to a classic luxury motor yacht. When we have found the best shot in the final shoot off, we put the guns away so that the bar can open. On the barge option, old-fashioned pub games are enjoyed on the cruise back into London and on the longer events we can even arrange a bridge lift for the historic Tower Bridge so that the barge can pass beneath ready to moor up on Tower Pier.
Rib blasts and treasure hunts on The Thames or The Solent are also popular through the winter months. We provide the wet weather gear and you bring the gloves and wooly hats! The images below were taken on a rainy day in February where the huge smiles more than made up for the lack up sunshine!
The key to these events are shorter time on the water with one or more stop offs at a location for a hot chocolate or a warming lunch. We have previously run our off season Rib blasts with conferences & meetings before, after or on the Isle of Wight in the middle!
