We’re delighted to share that our sister company, Commercial Rib Charter (CRC), part of Solent Rib Charter, has been awarded a King’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category—one of the UK’s most prestigious business honours. This recognition reflects years of experience, trusted partnerships, and a clear commitment to solving real-world offshore challenges.
CRC Walrus
At the heart of this achievement is CRC Walrus, a 13m amphibious crew transfer vessel, developed in partnership with Diverse Marine in Cowes. Designed specifically to operate in shallow and drying wind farm environments, CRC Walrus transitions seamlessly from water to land using three deployable wheels — enabling safe, efficient access where conventional vessels cannot operate.
Since her launch in 2023, CRC Walrus has been operating at Scroby Sands Wind Farm, where her contract has already been extended to 5.5 years — a strong endorsement of her performance and reliability. Her success has also driven further investment in the amphibious fleet, including the acquisition of three additional amphibious RIBs, expanding capability to support complex offshore operations.
This award marks a proud milestone for the CRC team and partners, while also laying the foundation for the next phase of innovation and growth.
