The winter months tend to be a little bit quieter for water-based events. Our charters have slowed down, but the ops team certainly hasn’t. We use this time to reflect on the season just gone and prepare for the one ahead.
Many of our charter yachts are out of the water, having their hulls cleaned, rigging inspected, electronics tested, and engines maintained.
Our Rib team is busy with winter refits, cleaning, inspections, engine care and tube maintenance. Quality control is obviously a continuous process – it never stops – but it pays to start the next season with everything in top condition.
As well as the vessels receiving their deserved checks and TLC, life jackets and safety equipment also get put through their annual scheduled servicing. Yacht vessel coding and insurance certificates are gathered and filed, and onboard charts and safety documents are updated for 2024.
We check out all our Rib treasure hunt locations around the Solent, verifying existing content and adding new material.
We visit our partner venues on the mainland and the Isle of Wight – to thank them for looking after our guests so well during 2023, plan for 2024, and have a good, unrushed catch-up.
We meet with our fantastic caterers, to discuss new menus and requirements – and try gorgeous food.
In short, we might not be on the water so much during these months, but all our focus is definitely on getting back out there – on yachts, Ribs and bigger powerboats. We are getting ready for our Solent Season 2024 – and can’t wait for you to join us!
