Back in March, we featured the amazing challenge to be taken on by The Ocean Sheroes who will be rowing the Pacific any day now. These inspiring women have taken on the 2700 mile row from San Francisco to Hawaii with a ‘3 P’s’ philosophy. The campaign sets out to be more that ‘just’ rowing an ocean, but to work with a network of change-makers to create a positive impact for people and planet.
The first P is for Positivity, inspiring change through their team values that include a positive mindset and mindful lifestyle. They have created positive partnerships and been regenerative in their approach to the whole project. People comes next as they seek to foster a community that cares about each other and the planet with an emphasis on connectedness and inclusion whilst promoting climate and social justice. Finally, and at this time very importantly, Planet features as they look to highlight tackling marine pollution through their partnership with the fantastic Sea Bins project.
Solent Events and sister company Solent Rib Charter will be supporting the Sheroes ‘270 Challenge‘ over the coming weeks as 4 members of our team complete 270 miles (just 1/10th of the rowing distance… luckily!) to raise at least £270 for the Sea Bins charity. Sarah, Christian, Olivia and Simon will walk, run, cycle and paddle board the distance whist the rowers brave the Pacific and would appreciate any donations via the Go Fund Me page. We’ll let you know how we get on soon and thank those who are able to donate! You can follow the progress of this challenge by following the has tag #OSR270Challenge .
